Unimog rear 3
point
linkages
Strong and robust, At RSL, we try to tackle situations differently. Years ago we created the first rear linkage. We needed the linkage to be strong and durable with a 5t lift capacity and needs to be fully adjustable as it is on a tractor. Because of the lack of hydraulic services on the rear of a Unimog we also needed the lift arms to lift the pickup hitch as it does on most tractors rather than having extra hydraulic rams at the rear to lift the trailer as other manufacturers do. This means our linkage requires just the one service leaving the 2nd, 3rd and 4th (if fitted) free. At RSL we don't rest on our laurels, we are now on the Mark III linkage. The mark 3 linkage has a larger lift range and the link arms lift higher. This allows a reversible plough to have greater clearance when turning over. A particular challenge to Unimogs as the suspension sinks so much when a plough is lifted!
The linkage is cat.3 as standard and has 750-850mm of lift range and rated at 5t capacity. The whole linkage is mounted on the rear of the chassis and on all models bracing goes underneath the axle to mid mounted positions for strength while still allowing the chassis to flex which is very important on a Unimog.
